I feel that it is very important that the young and adolescent k now that they are the first generation to grow up in a world where AIDS/HIV has taken so many lives or have infected so many. The youth of today who have had HIV/AIDS or know someone with this virus need to understand that it could happen to anyone. Within the United States of America, about 40 percent of all new infections in young people between the ages 12 to 25. Even with this harsh realization, many of today’s youth and those around them are determined to see an end to this pandemic within their life time. It is very important that everyone be committed to finding a cure for HIV/AIDS. As a society we must continue invest in medical advancements and education and equal treatment for all. I. Look Back It is very easy for society to over look the young people that have been affected by A.I.D.S. and HIV. Eyes were raised somewhere around the year 2000, when the HIV issue began to affect more young people than the standard or average age of 30’s, this was an issue that needed to be addressed (CDC). Many of the young were starting to show more and more , known as Karposis Sarcoma, very interesting to note was this cancer was first noted in diagnosed in two gay men in New York City, around the year 1979. Also noted was a super rare case of, Pneumocytis Cariini Pneumonia which was documented in the City of Los Angeles, CA, this was also affecting young gay men; all of these cases were being treated with the standards of the time (Antibiotics and Blood infusions, ect.) many cases of this strange disease and the many side infection associated with the disease was going up around the nation and around the world.
